Location: Dar es Salaam, Tanzania Role description: download here Evidence for Action (E4A) is a five year programme (2011-2016) funded by the UK Department for International Development (DFID) to improve maternal and newborn survival through a combined focus on evidence, advocacy and accountability across six sub-Saharan African countries: Sierra Leone, Ethiopia, Malawi, Nigeria, Ghana and Tanzania. E4A’s overall aim is to improve timely access to birth in facilities which save maternal and newborn lives, with a particular focus on ensuring that hospitals, as the final piece of the referral chain and the central base for supportive supervision across other facilities, are able to provide life-saving care for mothers and newborns. You will have the lead responsibility for the set-up, coordination and successful implementation of a pilot project which seeks to support health systems response to quality of care challenges across health facilities. You will have a proven track record in delivering projects, especially project set-up; stakeholder orientation and partnership management; planning, coordinating and reporting on implementation; and ongoing monitoring, learning and improvements to project delivery. A confident self-starter, you will have excellent communication skills, an eye for details, and be a team player. Additionally you will demonstrate your willingness to work extensively in peripheral regions, liaising effectively and working closely with the health system at different levels to ensure successful project delivery.
