MANAGER MINERAL PROCESSING AND ENGINEERING SERVICES

The Manager reports to the Director of Mining and Engineering Services and has responsibilities to guide the mineral processing operations and provide engineering services.

9.1 Principal duties and responsibilities

• Heads the Mineral Processing and Engineering Services section;

• Manages engineering workshop;

• Supervises the collection of samples and coordinates metallurgical tests;

• Directs and supervises the determination of flow sheets for mineral extraction;

• Supervises environmental impact assessments and audits;
• Coordinates construction and installation of processing plants;

• Verifies the completeness of environmental study reports;

• Monitors, inspects and advises on mineral beneficiation process to STAMICO mines;

• Conducts open performance review and appraisal of subordinate and gives feed back;

• Develops individual objectives/targets and performance standards as part of individual performance agreement in consultation with the immediate supervisor; and

• Performs other duties as assigned by immediate Supervisor.

9.2 Minimum Qualifications and Experience

Holder of Bachelor Degree in Mineral Processing, mining or related field with minimum experience of 8 years 3 of which must have been in a senior position.

9.3 Competence among others are:-

• Computer literacy is essential;

• Ability to communicate with excellent writing skills;

• Ability to supervise and direct multifunctional professionals.

9.5 Remuneration

According to STAMICO Schemes of Service in the salary scale of STAMICO - Salary Scale SMC 9.
